지도 끝 찾아가기 - 토진보 (東尋坊) [Until the end of my map - Tojinbo]

금요일 발표를 아리까리하게 잘 마친 후 마음을 정리하면서 바이크 생각이 났다. 이제 500키로만 더 뛰면 엔진오일과 필터를 갈아야 하는데... 하면서 정비소 일정을 살펴보니 왠걸, 돌아오는 일요일부터 다음주 수요일까지 연휴란다. 젠장, 오늘 안봤으면 월요일까지 이어지는 연휴동안 500키로 안넘게 하려고 투어도 못 갈뻔 했다.

After finishing Friday's presentation with curiosity and arranging stuffs, I found I wanted to ride motorcycle. Need to change engine oil and filter after running 500km... Ohhh, my favorite maintenance shop will close from coming Sunday to next Wednesday. Shit, I cannot do riding not to over 500 kilos if I did not see this information on Website.

금요일 저녁 문 닫기 직전에 방문해서 오일과 필터를 갈고 나니 속이 후련하...면서 다시 투어 생각이 난다. 하지만 해야 할 일이 있기 때문에 박투어는 힘들고, 하루 코스로 가볼만한 곳, 지금까지 안가본 곳이 어딘가 지도를 살펴봤다. 남쪽과 서쪽, 동쪽은 다 가본 셈인데 이번엔 시코쿠로 넘어가서 사누키 우동을 먹어볼까... 하다가 일기예보를 보니 남서쪽은 전부 비다. 눈을 돌려 그동안 후쿠시마 사고로 염두에 두지 않았던 북쪽을 봤다. 후쿠시마쪽은 아니지만  후쿠이라고 지도의 북쪽 끝 가는 길에 있는 도시가 보였다. 여기는 유명한 게 뭐가 있는가 살펴보다 토진보(東尋坊)라고 하는 곳이 많이들 가는구나, 하곤 대충 목적지로 정하고 가기로 했다.

Visited 6:30 pm at Friday and changed engine oil and filter. Really feel comfortable... and want to go tour. Though I want to ride until the end, but cannot due to work. Where will be good to a day tour, especially the unknown region in Kansai area? I already cover the south, west and east bound of my Kansai touring map, so how's going to Shikoku to eat Sanuki Udon?... This plan looks not good due to rain forecast from south bound. How about north? Actually I did not get this due to nuclear problem in Hukushima, but can see the other north bound, Hukui. Finally I found the famous travel point in Hukui city, called Tojinbo, and set just go.

아침 일찍 일어나고 싶었으나, 그동안의 피로 누적으로 인해 눈을 뜬 것이 7시반이었다. 하지만 포기하기엔 괜찮은 시간인지라 생각보다는 늦었지만 출발을 하기로 했다. 원래 가는 길이 비와코 주변을 따라 도는 길이라 아는 길은 빨리 지나가고 모르는 곳에서 좀더 시간을 가질 생각이었는데, 한층 여유는 없지만 8시 20분에 출발을 하게 되었다.

Ahh, I woke up at 7:30 am, far late than planned due to fatigue. However, it's not so late to go. The plan was passing the east side of Lake Biwa with fast speed before the dawn, because I saw there many times, and enjoy the new area. Though I cannot predict the traffic condition, just start at 8:20 am.

날씨는 약간 덥고, 도로 상태는 아주 좋다. 재빠르게 비와코를 우회해서 쯔루가시를 벗어나니 이제 처음 가보는 길이다.

Weather is slightly warm, and traffic condition is good. Detouring Lake Biwa fastly and passing Tsuruga city, then find the new way.

언제쯤 바다가 나오려나 하면서 달리자마자 바다가 보인다. 쯔루가 북항인데, 여기서 홋카이도를 가는 페리가 가는 모양이다. 구경을 하러 페리 터미널에 들렀다.

Keep riding with admiring the sea... then just see the shore. Here is the part in north Tsuruga port, which has the ferry bound for Hokkaido. Visit terminal to browse.

가는 데 시간도 많이 걸리고, 하루에 두편 정도밖에는 없는 것 같다. 1시에 출발한다는데 한산한 모습이다. 언젠가 홋카이도에 갈 때는 여기서 배를 타는 것도 괜찮겠다 싶은 생각을 하면서 다시 나섰다.

Need almost half a day to go Hokkaido, and have two times a day. Next ferry will board at 1pm, but there are few people. Just thinking the next chance and depart again.

일본 간사이 지방 각지의 해안을 들러봤지만 매번 다른데, 여기가 가장 바다에 가깝게 길을 내놓은데다가 우리나라 남해안처럼 바위 해안이라 볼거리들이 정말 많다. 여지껏 본 해안 중에서 가장 추천할만한 구경거리인데, 이걸 멈춰서서 사진을 찍으려니 불편해서 그냥 지나치는 경우가 많은 것이 아쉽고 길이 좁다. 마침 바이크니 망정이지 차는 좀 좁을 것 같은데 참 잘도 다닌다.

Though I visited various seashore in Kansai area, this road is the best due to close from the sea and various marvelous rocks from the road is similar with southern seashore in Korea. The defects are that there are few stopping points to pick the photos, and the road is somewhat narrow. It's enough for riding motorcycle, but looks really skewed and narrow for the car... but Japanese drives very well.

다른 많은 곳들이 있겠지만 일단 목적지를 토진보로 정했으니 내쳐 달린다. 배도 안고프고 해서 별다른 휴식 없이 토진보에 도착한 시간이 12시 20분, 4시간이 걸린 셈이다. 교토에서는 약 200키로 떨어진 곳이다. 다른 많은 라이더들과 함께 도착했다.

Though there are many places want to visit, just ride until reaching Tojinbo without eating or resting. Finally I arrive there at 12:20 pm, spending 4 straight hours from home, 200 kms from Kyoto. Many motorcycle riders are together with there.

들어가는 길은 온통 호객꾼과 상점들이고, 정작 도착하면 떨렁 팻말 하나 있고 땡볕이다.

일본 최대의 주상절리라는데, 유람선을 타고 바다에서 바라보는 게 좋긴 하겠지만 한번 타는데 1200엔이니 엄두가 나질 않는다. 여기 한군데 뿐만이 아니라 여기저기 볼만한 곳이 있다는데, 저 멀리 보이는 빨간 다리도 그 중의 하나다. 그저 발로 밟아본다는데 의의를 두고 한바퀴 돌아나왔다. 그다지 권하고 싶지는 않은 관광지이지만 그래도 기념품으로 엽서는 사야 겠다는 생각에 상점에 문의해보니 한장짜리는 없고 세트로만 판다. 그래도 가격은 지난번 후지산 때보다 훨씬 싸다.

Say Japan's best columnar jointing, looks best when boarding sightseeing boat from the sea. But expensive (1,200 yen). There are many viewpoints in surrounding, one is the red bridge in first picture. Not so recommended sightseeing point but walk around and out. Search souvenir in shops, the usual case is postcards. There is no piece, but sets. Price is lower than Fuji mountain's.

자, 이제 본격적으로 지도 끝까지 가보는 일정을 시작하고자 하는데, 문제는 시간이 벌써 2시가 넘어간다는 거다. 투어 연비상 250키로 주행후 연료를 보충하는데, 지도 끝까지는 그보다 조금 더 가야 할 것 같다. 몸 상태도 썩 좋은 것은 아니니 무리하지 말고 250키로 어간까지 가자, 그러면 돌아오는 길도 똑같지 않겠느냐 싶어 그정도로 달리니 공항이 있는 코마쯔시에 도착했다. 여기서 늦은 점심을 먹고서 연료를 보충하고 집에 돌아가기로 했다.

OK, ride until reaching the end of my map... but already 2 pm. I usually refuel on 250kms to check the fuel efficiency, but the end of my map will be little more. Condition is not the best, so decide to ride until 250kms and try to return with similar distance. This reaches Komatsu city which has the airport. After eating late lunch at 3 pm, refuel and start to return.

먹고 나오니 소나기가 한바탕 지나간 모양이다. 왔던 길이 비록 좋지만 여행 경험상 가는 길은 다른 길로, 이정표상 잘 안내가 되어 있는 8번 국도를 이용해 보기로 했다. 이 길은 비와코 북쪽으로 바로 연결되니 그냥 따라가면 되서 더욱 편리하다... 고 생각하는데, 소 잔등을 가르는 갑작스러운 소나기가 하필 내가 8번 국도에 진입하려고 하자마자 내리기 시작한다. 준비한 우의를 입고 간신히 억센 소나기를 빠져나왔다. 그 짧은 몇분동안 온통 젖을 뻔 했는데, 벗어나고 나니 엄청 큰 무지개가 보일 정도로 날이 좋고 덥다.

It looks after the pouring rain when departing from the restaurant. For the experience, try to use 8th road which looks straight to Kyoto though coming road is beautiful. 8th road also will reach to western side of Lake Biwa, so convenient to find different road to Kyoto... Shit, meet severe rain shower just after entering the road. It is just several minutes but really heavy not to be fully proofed by simple rain suit. But I can see the really big, beautiful rainbow just after riding south.

아름다운 낙조를 보면서 열심히 달리고, 또 무리 안하게 열심히 쉬면서 집에 도착한 시간이 저녁 9시 20분, 오늘 13시간동안 밖에 있었고 휴식 빼고 10시간 반 정도 달린 것 같다. 총 거리는 500키로에서 약간 모자라는데, 이거 오일 안 갈았으면 정말 답답할 뻔 했다.

Keep running with seeing fantastic setting sun, and good rest in closed rest area then arrive home at 9:20 pm. Today I spend 13 hours in outside, ride 10:30 hours excluding rest and sightseeing. Distance is around 480 kms, which means that changing engine oil was really good choice.
