이야기가 있는 이야기 (Narrative Report)

내가 지금 연구하고 있는 "의도"라는 연구 주제는 같은 언어나 단어라도 사람에 따라 생각하는 것이 다른 그 무엇인가를 찾아내고자 하는 것이다. 현재로서는 무엇이 확실하게 "의도" 이다라고 말하기 어렵기 때문에, 그 무엇에 가까운, 가능성이 있는 언어들을 나열하는 수준에서 연구가 진행되고 있다.

"Intent" is my current research issue, which is finding something that people think different with the same language or word. Until now, it is difficult that I can say this is "intent", so enumerating possible ones has been chosen as alternative way.

이 생각이 어려운 이유는 아마도 같은 현상을 바라보는 사람마다의 생각이 다르기 때문일 것인데, 이는 각자 살아온 환경이나 생각이 다르기 때문일 거라는 가정에서 시작한다. 근데 생각해보면 한편으로는 다르기는 하지만 같은, 그러니까 많은 사람들이 연상하는 주제를 제시하는 것이 "의도"일 가능성이 있다고 본다. 이렇게 생각하는 것이 보편적으로 옳게 여겨지거나 또는 많은 사람들이 그렇게 생각하는 것을 알게 되는 것 또한 하나의 "의도"라는 생각 때문이다.

This research looks difficult because every people think different when they see the same scene in the world due to their difference in cultural, environmental and theoretical bases, which is the basic assumption in my study. However, there is a possible solution to say "intent" when people think the same, though it looks slightly different. The reason is that people generally think it is matched or discover many others think the same (public agreement?), then regard that as intent.

그런 면에서 조금 딱딱한 언어로 "심층 보도"라 하는 것들에 눈길이 가는 것은 연구적으로 당연한 수순인지도 모르겠다. 요즘은 수많은 보도들이 즉시성에 집착하는데 반해 이렇게 조금 더 깊이 가는 일들을 접하기는 쉽지 않나 싶다. 우연히 접한 동아일보의 Narrative report 라는 연재 기사도 그냥 스쳐 지나가는 일들에 대한 좀더 자세한 탐구의 산물이라고 볼 수도 있겠는데, 사실 이렇게 생각하기엔 이 기사들은 현상에 대한 과거 탐구의 경향이 많아 미래를 제시한다고 보기는 어렵기는 하다.

In this way, so-called "in-depth article" is attractive in natural. Recent articles are focused on on-time, so there are usually few analytic reports. Eventually I met "Narrative Report" series in Donga-Ilbo, a Korean press. This series pursues precise analysis of a present situation which will be flow away, but bit past-focused then difficult to predict something.

중요한 것은 무언가를 보고 느끼고 하는 과정이 일순간에 모두 이루어지기는 참 어렵다는 것, 하지만 현대를 살고 있는 나를 비롯한 우리는 이 과정이 일순간에 이루어지기를 바라고 있다는 점이다. 과연 Narrative report를 하나의 제목으로 요약하는 것이 쉬울까, 어떤 사람이 그런 이야깃거리들을 압축해서 "이것이 당신이 원하는 것이요" 하고 제시할 수 있을까...

Important fact is that observing and feeling are hardly done simultaneously, but everyone in today wants to do those at one time (such as browsing Web search engine). Can "Narrative Report" be summarized as a title? Can anyone analyze the stories inside of a scene and suggest, saying "this is what you want" ?
