설렁탕 (갈비탕?) 먹은 이야기 [Story of eating Seolleongtang; Korean broth soup]

이곳 일본에서 제대로 된 한식을 먹기란 쉬운 일이 아니다. 물론 교포나 일본인들이 한식당을 많이 내지만, 맛이 제대로 들기가 어렵기도 하고 말하자면 일본식 한국 요리라 할까, 밍숭한 듯한 요리들이 문제였다. 예전에는 중심가에 있는 '무궁화'라는 한식당에서 가끔 제대로 된 한국요리를 맛볼 기회가 있었는데, 마지막으로 먹은 감자탕을 끝으로 문을 닫아서 기회가 없었다.

Eating real Korean food in Japan is difficult. Though there are Korean restaurants by overseas Koreans and Japaneses, the foods are not Korean cuisine but Japanese-Korean one, taste plan. I visited 'Mugunghwa' in the downtown of Kyoto sometimes when desperately need Korean taste, but this shop was closed just after eating Gamjatang.

그러다 얼마전 후배에게서 전해들은 한식당인 '장단' 이야기는 흥미로왔다. 점심메뉴로 설렁탕을 낸다는 이야기, 맛도 있고 밥과 김치를 마음껏 먹을 수 있다는 이야기에 바로 방문을 하기로 마음을 먹고 시간을 맞췄다. 점심시간인 12시 30분에 갔더니 어, 오늘은 예약이 꽉 차서 자리가 없단다... 꼭 오리라 마음 먹은 터라 다음날 점심시간에 다시 찾아갔다.

It is interesting to hear a Korean restaurant 'Changdan' by a young member. Especially the Seolleongtang as a lunch menu, buffet style service of boiled rice and Kimchi make me setting visit. Once visited 12:30 pm one day but returned due to full reservation... Then visit again the next day.

오늘은 내가 첫 손님이다. 점심시간에는 점심 메뉴만 되는데, 맨 위가 설렁탕이고 순두부, 곱창카레(?), 비빔밥 등이 가능하다. 가격은 일괄 800엔인데 밥과 김치, 커피 / 차가 무한정 제공되니 비싸다고 보긴 좀 그렇다. 마음먹은 대로 설렁탕 정식을 시켰다.

I'm the first guest today. Only lunch menu is available in lunch time (Korean style bar in night). Marvelous thing is that they serve Seolleongtang as well as Korean style tofu stew, curry and Bibimbap (Korean style mixed rice with vegetables). [The reason is that I did not find the restaurant which serves Seolleongtang due to the difficulty of recipe.] The price is all 800 yen, looks expensive but recognizable due to endless service of boiled rice, Kimchi and coffee / tea. At first, I order Seolleongtang.

분위기는 좀 좁은 카페 분위기인데, 저녁부터는 술집으로 운영되니까 그런 것 같다. 메뉴는 모두 한식인데, 이곳에서도 추어탕과 보쌈, 족발을 볼 수 있는 것이 반가왔다. 양은 매우 적겠지만 한국을 느끼기엔 부족함 없는 메뉴들일테니 저녁에도 한번 와 봐야 겠다는 생각을 해 보면서 셀프 서비스인 물을 연신 들이켰다.

Style looks like a small cafe, due to the bar in dinner time. Dinner menus are all Korean cuisine which looks attractive also though the amount may be small. Drink water with thinking will visit again in dinner time.

다 끓여 나오기 전에 반찬을 까는데 이것도 한국 스타일이다. 깍두기가 없는 것이 못내 아쉽지만 오이김치, 가지나물, 오뎅볶음, 열무김치와 락교를 고추가루에 묻힌 것이 꽤 분위기를 낸다. 사진을 찍을 것만 아니면 이것만 가지고도 밥 한그릇은 뚝딱 비우겠다 싶다. 밥과 김치, 숙주나물을 가져와서 맛을 보는데 김치맛이 꽤 괜찮은 것이 오늘 선택 잘 했다 싶다.

Side dishes are served first, really Korean style. Though there is no radish Kimchi which is desperately needed to Seolleongtang, these are exactly fit with Korean's mind. Can eat a bowl of rice with these, but busy to take photos. Taste Kimchi, it is good!

메인인 설렁탕이 나왔다. 이 부분은 기대를 조금만 했던 터라 생각보다 더 잘 나온 것 같다. 국물을 떠 먹어보니 맑은 것이 설렁탕보다는 갈비탕에 가까운 맛이다. 지난번부터 국물을 먹고 싶었는데 탕그릇에 제대로 나온 갈비탕을 보니 식욕이 돌아 흡입모드로 먹기 시작했다.

The main dish is served. Actually I did not have any ambition with this due to previous experiences, but looks good when tasting. More important fact is that I desperately needed to eat Korean stew... start eating like the beggar.

밥 두 그릇에 김치 세 그릇을 가져와 밥을 몽땅 말아서 한국식으로 먹고 나니 포만감이 몰려온다. 마지막으로 커피 한잔 할까... 하고 가 보니 왠걸, 한국 커피믹스가 떡 놓여 있다. 원래 이건 잘 안마시지만 기념으로 한잔 타 먹으니 꽤 괜찮다.

Two bowls of rice and three Kimchis are absorbed, getting mass full. But cannot pass the coffee break... Oh, this is Korean brand coffee with sugar and cream! Actually I do not like this, but today is memorial day.

다시 한번 찾아오고 싶은 식당임에는 틀림없는데, 휴일이 부정기적이니 허탕칠 일도 있을 듯 싶다. 아무튼 다른 메뉴들도 맛을 보고 싶다.

Eagerly want to visit again, but this shop has no regular break. Anyway I want to taste other menus.


###  2012. 9. 10 추가 (Adding 10 Sep, 2012)

후배와 함께 다시 한번 들렀을 때도 변함없이 맛있었다. 순두부찌개를 먹었는데 이 역시 맛이 괜찮고, 중요한 게 김치나 깍두기, 설렁탕이 한국의 맛이라는 점. 성업하시길 바라며 누군가 한국 맛이 그립다 하면 주저없이 데려갈 곳인 것 같다.

Visited again with other junior. I ate Korean style tofu stew, tasted good. Important fact is that they cook the food following real Korean cuisine. (I heard the female owner's Korean speaking.) Hurrah with this shop and must-eat when need to introduce Korean style food.
